Worcester County Back to School Plan Announced

Friday, July 31, 2020

Today I joined members of the Board of Education, elected officials, and Superintendent Lou Taylor to discuss the 2020/21 school year.  At the press conference, Superintendent Taylor announced that the Worcester County Public Schools will begin the school year with all students engaging in distance learning.  This distance learning is stage one of the “Responsible Return” model.  It’s exciting to hear that if conditions allow, Worcester County schools will move to stage two by

Monday, Sept. 28, which will welcome back students into the school for face-to-face instruction.

It is evident that our local school board is keeping parents informed and working through this challenging time.  Worcester County Public Schools will continue to offer a choice of distance learning for any families that do not wish to physically send their child back to school.

I appreciate the efforts of the school board and staff to make the best decisions for our families and students.
