Ride Along With Local Law Enforcement

Thursday, October 1, 2020

Friday night, I rode along with Ocean City Police Department and witnessed intense moments of violence against our police officers as well as aggressive and negligent driving that endangered others.  On Saturday I rode along again with a Deputy from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office to see the implementation of the exhibition driving laws that were passed in the General Assembly. My ride along started at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and we are just finishing up Sunday at 5:00 a.m.

While riding along, our vehicle was hit with rocks, bottles were thrown at us, and roman candles, as well as other fireworks, were shot at us. Never would I have imagined this type of behavior in Ocean City. I could not be more proud of our law enforcement officers for taking action against those who incited riot-like behavior. Our law enforcement officers were prepared and stood ready to protect our families and businesses from reckless behavior. THANK YOU
